The Buddies meet Friday mornings for exchange of health information, a weekly weigh-in, a little good-natured bantering and lots of support.
Members will tell you this is not strictly a weight-loss club. Their focus is on health and healthful living.
These men and women begin their meeting by joining hands and reciting a traditional mantra, which creates a bond of support that helps individuals who are struggling with a health or weight issue.

In the year 122, the Roman Emperor Hadrian visited Britain. He surveyed the boundaries of his empire around Caledonia and realized how difficult it would be to establish control of this mountainous terrain and the people of the highlands known as the Picts.
